They give a level surface the plants can sit upon, they add some humidity to the air around the pots and plants and they allow watering in place instead of the chore of moving the plants to a sink for watering. The brown plastic tray is a solid piece (no drain) with a plastic grid surface that is easily removed for cleaning. We offer six sizes.
